Hello and thank you for checking out my website! My name is MC Augstkalns, and I am a graduate of the M.A. Applied Linguistics program at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and author of This Is Not Ideal, a book of poetry, art, and memes.

Concurrent to studying Applied Linguistics, I studied Ukrainian Language and Culture online at Ukrainian Catholic University in L'viv, Ukraine. Prior to my Masters studies, I attained a B.A. in French, also from OU in Athens, Ohio.

My primary research interests lie in the study of idioms as they pertain to Second Language Acquisition (SLA), the intersection of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), and Slavic languages.

I am the web developer of Learn Ukrainian Online, a website dedicated to providing materials for beginner learners of Ukrainian, and of Lynnwood Library, a Little Free Library located in Vienna, West Virginia.
